Introduction to Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow GBA was released by Konami in 2003. It is the third installment in the Castlevania series on the Game Boy Advance.This game is designed with side view camera.When you move the character left or right, it will scroll with you.Although this is a good and attractive game, it is not interested in Japan.But it has been very successful when landing in EU countries.To this day, it is still loved by many people.They even organize tournaments for people to compete to see who can finish the match fastest.
Plot
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow GBA is set in the year 2035, when Soma Cruz is visiting Japan as a transfer student.He lives near Hakuba Shrine.On the night of the eclipse, he and Mina, a childhood friend, visit Hakuba Shrine.Suddenly, he and Mina are both sucked into the eclipse and fall into Dracula’s castle.Here, Soma’s power awakens by absorbing monster souls.After that, he began to explore the castle and found out many secrets behind it.
Gameplay
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow belongs to the role-playing adventure genre.You will transform into Soma guy exploring Dracula castle.During the adventure, you can pick up many new weapons.Battle enemies in the castle to gain experience and level up.As you level up, your base stats will also increase and you will become stronger to fight stronger enemies.The control is also quite simple, you use the move button to dodge attacks and attack enemies.
Equipment
You can change from weapons to character’s costumes to become stronger.Equipment can be picked up around the castle, you can replace it with your current equipment in the equipment interface.
Soul
In this part, you have an additional soul system to increase strength.Each dead enemy will give you a soul, every time you kill 110 enemies, you will get a skill, depending on your luck.Souls are divided into 4 categories:
- Bullet Souls: they give you an extra weapon like a fireball or whatever.To use just press the key combination Up + B.
- Guardian Souls: This skill will increase your defense, to activate it press R.
- Enchanted Souls: This skill will help you move on water and increase your strength.
- Spirit Ability: once you acquire this skill, you will be able to jump twice and slide like in the title Metroid.
Modes
After completing the game, you will open 3 more free modes:
- Julius: this mode allows you to experience the game as a Julius character.
- Nouse: play games with limited items.
- Nosoul: play the game with limited souls.
